Toolstation League division one: Shepton Mallet 1, Wellington 2

NEWLY-CROWNED division one champions Wellington finished the club’s most successful ever campaign with league win number 27 at Shepton on Saturday.

We are the champions!

WELLINGTON clinched the Toolstation League division one title for the first time in their history last night (Wednesday).

They drew 3-3 away to Minehead to earn the point which ensured they finished ahead of nearest rivals Sherborne and Larkhall ... and still have one game to play.

Two wins from the title

WELLINGTON are just two wins from the title after thumping league newcomers Roman Glass St George in Bristol last Saturday.

Toolstation League Division 1: Wellington 4, Almondsbury 2.

WELLINGTON moved to within two points of leaders Sherborne with two games in hand after victory at home to Almondsbury in a replayed match last night (Wednesday).

The hosts took the lead after 20 minutes when Dan Short rose to head home a corner.

Title hiccup

Toolstation League Division 1: Wellington 0, Shrewton United 1

WELLINGTON’S title hopes suffered a setback as they were beaten by Shrewton United in an incident-packed game at the Playing Field last Saturday.

It was a bad day at the office for Leigh Robinson’s side, who did everything but score in the second half as they pummelled the Shrewton goal.

Toolstation League Division 1: Wellington 5, Bradford Town 1.

WELLINGTON swept aside Bradford Town with another five-goal haul at the Playing Field last Saturday.

After Craig Herrod had gone twice close, it was the winger who opened the scoring in the eighth minute when he finished off a flowing move with a crashing volley for his side's 100th league goal of the season.

Two points dropped

Toolstation League Division 1: Weston St Johns 1, Wellington 1.

WELLINGTON dropped two points in their quest for the division one title as they were held to a draw away to bottom club Weston St Johns on Saturday.

Goal crazy Welly hit five more

Toolstation League Division 1: Wellington 5, Elmore 1.

WELLINGTON made it 22 goals in three games as they cruised to victory over Elmore before a bumper Good Friday crowd at the Playing Field.

Welly must wait ...

WELLINGTON will have to wait to discover if they will collect three points from their game against bottom club Almondsbury on Saturday.

The match was abandoned after 85 minutes in appalling weather and Toolstation League officials will now meet to decide whether the result should stand.
